Eligible shows must perform between mid-October and mid-April, with voting taking place soon after. After votes are tallied, schools nominated for Best Musical, Best Play, and Best Song are asked to prepare material to present in front of the entire region during the season's award ceremony, The Cappies Gala.

Extended School Year (ESY) Student Volunteers Needed

The Unionville-Chadds Ford School District offers an extended school year program, referred to as ESY, for students with disabilities served by Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) who need instruction over the summer.  This summer, ESY will run from June 26 through August 8 (six weeks), Monday through Thursday, 8:00am to 12:00pm at Unionville Elementary School.  Students who participate in this program have disabilities that require them to receive instruction in academics like reading, writing, and mathematics, but students also have goals in the areas of social skills, sensory skills, and communication skills.  Additionally, the program is promoting a different theme each week with a corresponding activity day filled with authentic learning opportunities such as field trips, special visitors, and exciting activities.

This summer in order to best support our ESY students' needs, we are looking for peers of varying school ages to volunteer to participate in ESY for all six of the one-time per week activity days. Research suggests that both students with disabilities and students without disabilities greatly benefit from these inclusive opportunities.
If your child is interested in participating in this unique program, please complete the google survey using this link or by going to

Adopt a Garden at Patton this Summer

An exciting opportunity for the UCFSD students and their families!! Save Money, get fresh vegetables and help others in need this summer!

The Family and Consumer Science program at CFPMS built 22 raised beds and constructed 2 greenhouses all with grant monies raised by the FCS department. The beds will be planted in the coming months, but when summer comes we will need YOUR help to maintain them and get us ready for this coming school year. Adopt our Garden Beds for a week or more and help us water, harvest and deliver to the Food Bank.

It is a win-win proposition for all. Work with your families while helping those who are less fortunate!! For more information please contact Kim Hisler at
